This paper is discussing; Mechanisms of the scientific and technological terms formulation in Hausa language, the aim of this article is to analyze and classify the formulation of scientific and technological Hausa terms into major categories according to the material that was taken basically from modern newspapers, as well as to supply the researchers of Hausa language with those words, compounds, phraseologisms and idioms which have not been noted hitherto especially after all the technological and scientific revolution which obliges languages to keep continuous developing. Many all of these terms seem to be neologisms principally those related to Corona Virus and technical issues.
In addition to classifying the scientific and technological terms, this paper is describing and analyzing their structure based on written sources only; as well as presenting a picture of how scientific and technological words can be created through derivation, compounding, Translation, and Paraphrases. In derivation, bound morphemes are used to derive new words in Hausa relating to science and technology. As for Translation, the Hausa language has borrowed either single words or compounds from both Arabic and English languages. In compounding in Hausa, two words or bound morphemes of two different languages, Hausa on one hand, and English and Arabic, on the other hand are combined to generate new words to refer to scientific or technological concepts. In paraphrases, the Hausa has used descriptive phrases to express any new term.
